What we talkin bout?
i made this tweet as a joke a few days ago but as with most things said in jest there is a lot of truth to it. if you do something that doesn’t work you’ve gotta do something else, if you do something that does work you’ve gotta replicate that outcome or think of an entirely new thing to do to get that same fix. thats a lot of doing and a lot of things.
so what exactly have i been doing? a lot, and yes it has been hard but hey nobody said that life was easy and life is the constant state of doing things.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine at French Press Films hit me up asking if I’d contribute some instrumental music to a gallery showing they were having for two visual artists. Considering how much dope work they’ve put in for me (All White) it was a no-brainer but considering the style of music it was a challenge as well; they wanted me to do ambient music. Well I gave it my best shot and now you can hear my four creations alongside seven others.
You may not know me as a producer but I’ve been producing for a long time on the low, it just has never been my focus but I’ve still managed to get Nitty Scott and STS on some stuff I’ve produced. But in the coming year expect to hear me on the boards a lot more.
The tracks I did are Cold Frequency, Solar Power, Sunny Disposition and Moon Brew. Give it a listen and remember that I’m an artist so I’m sensitive about my shit.
The flyer pretty much says it all but I’m gonna be at Friends & Lovers doing the opening set at Future Old School this Saturday with Dash Speaks, Skinny Friedman and FriendsWBenefits. That was a poorly constructed sentence but I should still be a really good time and its also free. You can RSVP here or just show up on some G shit. Just make sure to get there before 11 if you are coming to hear me spin.
Brooklyn, we rockin at Skytown tonight and by ‘we’ I mean Kooley High, DJ Prince and myself. We start at 9 and go pretty late and to top it off its FREE! Okay let me go figure out how to blend Dej Loaf into B2K.
About a year ago we dropped Rubber Souls and to help celebrate the album’s birthday we are liberating the instrumentals. Download em now for free!
