BOSTON TO BROOKLYN

Here is a post with a few things that happened in the past week. I should probably be doing this on Instagram but I hate typing into my phone so I’m just gonna do it here. I’m also leaving out some details but mainly because I’m tired of typing now (i wrote this section last lol)

Did you guys know that Spotify has an office in Boston? Well they do and they invited Rob Cave to perform and he invited me to DJ. We had a blast and after that ended up dropping by the Little Brother show at the Middle East which was cool because I couldn’t make it to their Brooklyn stop. Between seeing Little Brother back on stage and rocking a show with Rob, I am definitely getting the urge to get back up on stage and kick some rhymes!

The next day I was back in Brooklyn for a double header which included a DJ’ing a comedy show and a then DJ’ing a De La Soul Tribute party where I got to rock alongside my dear friend Tara. I was exhausted from traveling because I got no sleep in Boston and took a very uncomfortable nap on the train ride back but it was all worth it. I mean when have you ever got to hear ‘I Am I Be’ at full volume in the club?

The party was happening at the same time as the Little Brother show at Brooklyn Bowl so it became the unofficial Little Brother show afterparty and mad folk I haven’t seen in years dropped by to show love. Questlove even popped in for .05 seconds to say what up and I caught Phonte chilling in the cut as well. Shouts to Joe Scudda, Sinnamonlove, Jerry Barrow, Shawn Setaro, A King and everyone else. There were so many folk that I haven’t seen since pre-pandemic!

The next day it was off to the studio to work on some music with China & Hayling. I don’t want to fully describe what we’re working on yet but it’s shaping up to be something truly special. I’ll talk more about it later i guess…

And then it was back to Butterboy on Monday which is always a good time. Since we were celebrating Marianne and Maeve’s birthday I popped into the green room to grab some cookies and cake so here is a rare photo of me in the green room after the show.

Just noticed that Marianne is wielding a butcher knife and it’s giving the photo a very crazy yet cool vibe.
